Where is the Conditional Formatting option in InfoPath 2010?

Are you wondering where is the Conditional Formatting option in Infopath 2010? It used to be in the properties window for a field or section, but now the button has been removed.
Answer: Select the control > The “Control Properties” tab should light up and you should see “Manage Rules” > Click the New button on Manage Rules and select Formatting

Being an InfoPath Developer I am often very frustrated with the restrictions of which controls and functionality cannot be rendered within InfoPath 2007 browser forms.
InfoPath 2010 finally seems to address many of these issues. For example, controls and functionality that are now supported in browser forms include: Bulleted, numbered, and plain lists, multiple selection list boxes, Combo boxes, Choice group and sections, and Filtering functionality.
Other really cool features include new out-of-the-box rules (or quick rules) that allow you to add rules to validate data, format your form, or perform other actions with just a few clicks, and without any code.

Google Wave what? In short, ‘Google Wave’ is a real-time communication platform. The past day or so I’ve read numerous articles about this being aimed as a potential competitor to SharePoint (for now I’m going to reserve my personal opinion of how much of a threat I think this may or may not be to SharePoint within the enterprise environment).

A new preupgradecheck operation is added to stsadm tool. It can be used to scan your server farm to establish whether it is ready for upgrade to SharePoint Products and Technologies “14″. It identifies issues that could present obstacles to the upgrade process. It checks for several SharePoint Products and Technologies “14″ system requirements, including the presence of Microsoft® Windows Server® 2008 and a 64-bit hardware, and provides feedback and best practice recommendations for your current environment, together with information on how to resolve any issues that the tool discovers.

Tags: FAST, Search, SharePoint 2007Last April, Microsoft completed its acquisition of the Norwegian search developer, FAST Search and Transfer. Since then, teams from both companies have been working to further integrate the two products. Last week, at the FASTforward’09 event, Microsoft revealed some of the vision for FAST technologies moving forward. First, two products were announced: FAST Search for SharePoint and FAST Search for Internet Business. The first product will bring the high-end search capabilities of FAST to SharePoint Server’s collaboration, portal, and content management workloads. The second will be focused on providing search for sophisticated web applications. Both products will be released in beta later this year, which means their final form will be part of the 2010 wave of SharePoint products and technologies. In the meantime, Enterprise CAL customers can take advantage of the third announcement made last week: ESP for SharePoint. This offering is not a new product, per se, but rather a licensing path that enables customers to take advantage of FAST ESP with existing Microsoft Office SharePoint Server (MOSS) implementations, with a defined licensing path to FAST Search for SharePoint when it is released.
It’s interesting to me that this roadmap suggests that Microsoft is keeping FAST as a completely separate, though complementary, set of product offerings, rather than integrating them into out-of-box offerings or “premium” versions of SharePoint Server. I expect this has much to do with the timing of the acquisition and integration activities, which occurred well into the SharePoint 14 development cycle. It will be interesting to see if any of the FAST capabilities manage to sneak into the core search functionality of SharePoint. Without a doubt, FAST brings powerful enhancements to SharePoint, and further moves SharePoint into the “no brainer” category for enterprise search.
